Senior Software Engineer - VSD

Role Summary

Design and implement high-performance optimization and analysis software for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) products. Work on algorithms and tooling that improve quality of results and integrate into the broader compilation and analysis flow.

Collaborate with data, platform, QA, documentation, and other engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions as part of a small, focused product team in a hybrid work model.

Experience Level

Senior. The role requires demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and deploying optimization algorithms; the posting specifies a minimum of 5 years in EDA, research, or related technology contexts.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and develop robust, scalable software tools for optimization and compilation tasks.
• Implement high-performance optimization algorithms and workflows to improve product quality of results.
• Create and refine algorithms and processes for cohesive, efficient data analysis across platforms.
• Integrate new tools end-to-end with data and platform components and the broader compilation flow.
• Collaborate within a small team to solve problems, review specifications, and generalize solutions.
• Work with QA and documentation teams to create tests and user-facing documentation.
• Present product functionality and value differentiation to internal and external stakeholders; travel as required.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Minimum of 5 years focused on design, development, and deployment of design-optimization algorithms in EDA, research, or similar technical contexts.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques, including graph neural networks (GNNs) and combinatorial optimization methods, to algorithmic problems.
• Demonstrated experience with concurrency and parallelism (multi-threading, distributed computing, OpenMP, MPI, TBB).
• Practical and theoretical expertise with ASIC and FPGA tools and flows.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
• Strong software engineering practices and ability to set up and maintain development processes.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to create and deliver product-focused presentations.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is specified; a Master’s or PhD is preferred.
