Senior Software Engineer - VSD
Role Summary
Design and implement high-performance optimization software and algorithms for electronic design automation (EDA). Work in a small R&D team to integrate tools into the broader compilation flow and collaborate with data, platform, QA, and documentation teams.
Experience Level
Senior — 10+ years of relevant industry or research experience focused on design, development, and deployment of optimization algorithms in EDA or related technical domains.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing algorithms and software that improve quality-of-results, integration with compilation flows, and supporting product delivery.
- Design and develop robust, scalable software tools for optimization in EDA.
- Develop high-performance optimization algorithms and solutions.
- Create algorithms and processes to improve quality-of-results across platforms.
- Collaborate with data, platform, and other engineering teams for end-to-end integration.
- Work with QA and documentation teams to create tests and user-facing documentation.
- Review specifications, propose general solutions, and participate in design reviews.
- Prepare and deliver product presentations that explain functionality and differentiation.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Requirements
Essential skills and experience for successful candidates.
- Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying optimization algorithms for ASIC and FPGA tools.
- In-depth practical and theoretical expertise with ASIC and FPGA toolchains.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools.
- Solid software engineering practices and experience setting up/maintaining development processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competitive, results-oriented mindset with professional ethics.
Education Requirements
MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
