Job Title
Senior Software Engineer, Test Infrastructure
Role Summary
Work on NVIDIA's Integrated Circuit Product Engineering (ICPE) team to design and build scalable software test infrastructure for networking hardware focused on power and performance across the product lifecycle, from bring-up to production.
The role partners with hardware, firmware, product engineering, and lab teams to automate test execution, telemetry, measurement, and data analysis to enable high-throughput, reliable engineering and release workflows.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial experience. The posting requests 8+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include architecting and delivering test infrastructure, automation, and integrations to support hardware validation and production release.
- Architect and implement a scalable software-based test infrastructure for networking hardware with emphasis on power and performance coverage.
- Develop autonomous workflows that orchestrate test execution, system initialization, measurement, monitoring, logging, data collection, and analysis.
- Design software layers for test content: scheduling, execution control, telemetry pipelines, result handling, and data processing frameworks.
- Integrate lab equipment (power supplies, thermal solutions, instrumentation) into a unified automation environment.
- Connect infrastructure to CI/CD systems, release flows, and quality gates to enable high-throughput engineering workflows.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, product engineering, and lab teams to improve coverage, reliability, and observability.
- Drive software design and engineering best practices for maintainability, scalability, and long-term platform evolution.
Requirements
Key must-have skills and experience; followed by concise nice-to-have items.
-
Must-have: 8+ years of hands-on software development experience building complex systems or infrastructure.
-
Must-have: Proven experience architecting and building test infrastructure, automation platforms, or engineering systems at scale.
-
Must-have: Strong track record building production-quality software in Linux with focus on reliability, maintainability, observability, and system-level debugging.
-
Must-have: Experience with cloud environments and Docker-based workflows.
-
Must-have: Strong experience with CI/CD, automated quality gates, and software delivery best practices.
-
Must-have: Experience designing orchestration, workflow, or agentic systems for multi-step technical processes.
-
Must-have: Experience with telemetry, logging, measurement, data pipelines, and automated analysis frameworks; ability to work across software, hardware, firmware, and lab teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with networking products, high-performance connectivity platforms, hardware systems, lab instrumentation control, or power/thermal/performance characterization frameworks.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with large-scale automation for bring-up, qualification, or production-oriented engineering flows.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field β or equivalent practical experience.
