TenstorrentJob Title
Senior Software Engineer, Systems Framework & Infrastructure
Role Summary
Join the Systems Engineering team to develop software frameworks, APIs, tooling, infrastructure, and CI regression systems that introspect, test, and validate ASICs and systems from pre-silicon through production. The role supports cross-functional teams and contributes to board and system bring-up and debugging.
Experience Level
Senior - the role expects experienced engineers (guidance: 3+ years of relevant software development experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on building and operating software and automation for ASIC and system validation.
- Design, develop, and maintain system and ASIC access and testing frameworks based on internal requirements.
- Architect APIs to enable teams to transition from early test-chip bring-up to mature, productized systems.
- Execute ML processor, board, and system bring-up and validation; drive debugging across bring-up, validation, and production phases.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated test suites, and containerized test environments to ensure software quality.
- Review peer code and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to translate hardware and system requirements into reliable software tooling.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities:
- Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
- Fluency with Git workflows (rebase and feature-branch development).
- Experience with Python packaging/release flows, CI/CD, containerized environments, and test automation (doctest, pytest).
- Proven Linux systems programming experience and understanding of OS internals, thread-safe programming, and memory management.
- Solid grounding in computer architecture and digital logic design; ability to read schematics and RTL.
- Experience debugging hardware using lab tools (oscilloscope, logic/protocol analyzers) or interpreting pre-silicon waveforms.
- Analytical problem-solver with clear verbal and written communication skills and ability to drive issues to closure.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with ML processor architecture, chiplet-based ASIC architecture, and board-level design.
- Experience with orchestration/container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) or advanced CI tooling.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. The posting indicates 3+ years of relevant software development experience.
