Senior Software Engineer — Networking and Virtualization
Role Summary
Develop networking and virtualization software for NVIDIA Connect‑X NICs and BlueField DPUs. Collaborate with internal software and architecture teams, pre‑sales, and customer R&D to design, prototype, and deliver production solutions.
Experience Level
Senior — 5+ years of practical software engineering experience in networking and virtualization.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities focus on customer collaboration, prototyping, and production software development.
- Work with customer R&D to understand application requirements and integrate NVIDIA products.
- Build proofs-of-concept and prototypes and drive them toward productization.
- Implement and maintain software components in collaboration with internal development and architecture teams.
- Design, code, test, and debug user- and kernel-space network software.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and desirable experience.
- Strong C/C++ programming skills (user and/or kernel mode); practical Linux development experience with Python.
- Deep knowledge of networking protocols such as VLAN, GRE, VXLAN, MPLS, IPsec, PSP, etc.
- Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies and related stacks.
- Proven design, debugging, and problem-solving abilities; track record of delivering production software.
- Demonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams and operate with limited supervision.
- Advantage: experience with RDMA, Open vSwitch (OvS), DPDK, SR-IOV, virtio, and storage stacks.
- Advantage: system architecture knowledge, PCIe, and system performance optimization experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
