Senior Software Engineer - Linux Kernel
Role Summary
Member of the core arm64 Linux Kernel team responsible for maintaining the upstream Linux port and internal codelines. The role focuses on kernel and KVM on arm64, test development, CI coverage, and upstreaming fixes.
The engineer will work with platform bring-up teams to debug hardware-related issues, improve test infrastructure, and collaborate with the open-source community (KernelCI, linux-next).

Responsibilities
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Maintain and improve the upstream arm64 Linux port and associated internal codelines.
- Integrate and maintain new features in internal and upstream code.
- Maintain and improve KVM on arm64 and related kernel subsystems.
- Develop tests to validate features, improve CI coverage, and upstream tests and fixes.
- Investigate and resolve test failures reported internally and externally.
- Work with hardware platform bring-up teams to debug issues and support kernel/KVM changes.
- Support KernelCI and linux-next maintenance needs and associated tooling.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in low-level software or kernel development.
- Proficient in C and experienced writing low-level C code.
- Experience maintaining internal Linux kernel codelines and debugging across Linux subsystems.
- Familiarity with Python scripting and automation for testing and tooling.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with upstream/open-source communities.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge of Armv8-A architecture and arm64 assembly.
- Understanding of Linux memory management and virtualization.
- Experience submitting patches to the Linux mailing list and participating in code reviews.
