Senior Software Engineer in Test

Role Summary

Develop and execute automated and manual test solutions for software, firmware, hardware, and IC products. Validate digital controller solutions used in AI, client, and server applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure product quality across the development lifecycle.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 5+ years of software QA experience with at least 3 years testing software integrated with hardware/firmware.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test planning, automation, debugging, and driving product quality:

• Design and execute automated and manual test plans for software, firmware, hardware, and IC solutions.
• Develop and maintain Python-based test automation and validation frameworks.
• Debug software and hardware issues; perform root-cause analysis on IC functionality.
• Analyze test results, report defects, and coordinate resolution with engineering and customer-facing teams.
• Collaborate with global teams and customers to define test requirements and methodologies.
• Drive QA best practices, process improvements, and test-coverage initiatives.
• Mentor team members and contribute to testing strategy and planning.
• Manage multiple priorities while balancing quality, timelines, and feature delivery.

Requirements

Core technical requirements and preferred skills.

• 5+ years in Software QA; 3+ years testing software integrated with hardware/firmware.
• Strong Python skills for test automation.
• Experience with test automation tools such as Qt Squish or SmartBear TestComplete (or similar).
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, DevOps pipelines, JIRA, and version-control workflows.
• Experience with HW/SW test environments, lab equipment, and measurement tools.
• Proven debugging and root-cause analysis skills for software and hardware issues.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration skills, and experience mentoring teams.
• Nice-to-have: electronics or microcontroller programming experience, and background in power systems, semiconductors, or ICs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
