Senior Software Engineer - EDA Tools & AI Solutions
Role Summary
Own and develop a core area of the product’s EDA tooling: data modeling, connectivity/encapsulation flows, and AI-driven features. Work across the stack from low-level handling of industry-standard collaterals to designing and deploying AI-based product capabilities.
The role has customer-facing impact and requires coordinating with internal teams to resolve field issues and improve product flows.
Experience Level
Senior - typically 5–10 years of relevant semiconductor or EDA-related engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical and customer-facing responsibilities:
- Maintain and improve the physical-aware product data model; triage and resolve customer-reported issues related to the model.
- Support and enhance connectivity and encapsulation tooling, including testing and flow improvements for agents within the product.
- Design, build, and deploy AI/LLM-based capabilities integrated into the product.
- Own customer-facing bugs and field issues end-to-end: triage, root cause analysis, and fixes.
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers and internal teams in areas of ownership.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor engineering, with exposure to EDA tools, semiconductor design flows, or related hardware-adjacent domains.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals; proficiency in Python and/or C++ and experience working in complex, long-lived codebases.
- Proven ownership of customer-facing issues and the ability to drive issues from triage to resolution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interface directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
- Self-directed and comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-changing (greenfield AI) environments.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with hardware description or design formats such as Verilog, LEF/DEF, SDC, or UPF.
- Familiarity building or integrating AI/LLM-based developer tooling.
- Background in chip design, physical verification, or power analysis workflows.
- Experience building developer tools, CLIs, or SDKs and shipping prototypes to production.
