Senior Software Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's GPU Software engineering team to develop and maintain Linux kernel and user-space drivers for Mali GPU products. The role focuses on performance-critical driver work (scheduling, memory management) and upstreaming code into the Linux ecosystem.
Work with cross-disciplinary software and hardware teams to deliver robust, high-performance GPU drivers for Linux and Android. Salary range: £73,500 - £99,500 per year.
Experience Level
Senior — senior-level engineering role. Relevant extensive experience in C, Linux kernel or device driver development, and system-level debugging is expected.
Responsibilities
The role involves design, implementation, maintenance and upstreaming of GPU driver components. Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to and maintain the upstream Mali GPU driver (panthor) in the Linux kernel.
- Design, implement, test and document kernel and user-space driver components.
- Develop performance-critical code such as scheduling and memory management for Linux and Android.
- Participate in code review, debugging, QA and maintaining existing codebases.
- Provide upstream support for new architecture features and align with Linux community maintainers.
- Collaborate with software and hardware teams to integrate driver components and define interfaces.
