Senior Software Engineer - Display Drivers

Role Summary

Join the software team responsible for display processor driver development, working on Linux kernel drivers, upstreaming, code review, and close collaboration with hardware engineering. The team uses hardware emulation (software and FPGA), Android, and testing/QA to validate display pipeline features and performance.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on developing and maintaining display drivers and related software while coordinating with hardware and cross-functional teams.

  • Design, implement and maintain display pipeline drivers for Linux kernel environments.
  • Perform debugging, profiling and verification using hardware emulation (software/FPGA) and target platforms.
  • Upstream patches and participate in code review and open-source collaboration.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers to define interfaces and resolve hardware-software issues.
  • Integrate and validate features on Android and other target stacks; ensure reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to testing, QA, and automation to improve driver robustness.
  • Mentor peers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and domain experience required for the role, plus a short list of desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Strong knowledge of display pipelines, computer graphics, rendering and image processing.
  • High proficiency in C and experience with low-level systems programming.
  • Experience with hardware-software interaction and driver development; proven contributions to display driver or related projects.
  • Experience with Linux kernel driver development, upstreaming and code review processes.
  • Nice-to-have: Understanding of I/O and networking impacts on server-side performance.
  • Experience with kernel bypass technologies (RDMA, DPDK, SPDK).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native tooling (Kubernetes, CSI, Ansible) and PyTorch-based training applications.
