Senior Software Engineer, CUDA UMD - Graphs and GPU Sharing

Role Summary

Work on the CUDA Driver to deliver features and improvements that enable GPU-accelerated general-purpose computation. The role focuses on CUDA programming models such as CUDA Graphs and Multi-Process Service (MPS) and requires cross-team coordination to integrate system-level features across NVIDIA's software stack.

Senior β€” minimum of 8–10 years of related development experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver design and implementation of system software features for CUDA; collaborate with multiple teams to define and ship improvements to APIs and runtime behavior.

  • Evangelize, architect, and implement new features for the CUDA platform.
  • Coordinate and drive development efforts across multiple engineering teams.
  • Help define forward-looking improvements to CUDA APIs and the programming model.
  • Extend CUDA programming models and functionality such as CUDA Graphs and MPS.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code and tools.
  • Develop and debug code across multiple operating systems.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong C and C++ programming skills.
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of related software development experience.
  • Proven experience driving projects across multiple teams and working with large codebases.
  • Familiarity with operating system interfaces for threads, process control, and virtual memory.
  • Experience writing and debugging multithreaded programs.
  • Good written communication and presentation skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience writing CUDA programs or libraries; knowledge of system-level architecture (interconnects, memory hierarchy, interrupts, MMIO); understanding of memory coherence and consistency models; kernel-mode development experience; Linux systems software development experience.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field β€” or equivalent practical experience.
