Senior Software Engineer, Compute Sanitizer - GPU
Role Summary
Join the NVIDIA Developer Tools team to design and implement the Compute Sanitizer suite β a GPU memory-checking and analysis tool used by developers across desktop and embedded platforms. The role focuses on building debugging and profiling features, integrating with drivers/compilers, and shipping tools that run on Windows, Linux, Android and embedded RTOS.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include engineering, integration, and collaboration across internal teams and external partners.
- Design, implement and maintain Compute Sanitizer features for GPUs on Windows, Linux and embedded OSes.
- Work with compiler, architecture and driver teams to define and verify new tooling features.
- Develop and maintain drivers, shared libraries, and targeted performance and correctness tests.
- Estimate and prioritize tasks to meet delivery schedules.
- Write fast, maintainable, reliable, and well-documented code.
- Perform and provide peer code reviews focused on performance, scalability, and correctness.
- Document requirements and designs; coordinate reviews across teams.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by desirable qualifications.
- Strong programming ability in C and C++; familiarity with scripting languages and assembly.
- Expertise in system programming: memory management, processes/threads, debugging and profiling.
- Strong problem solving and low-level debugging skills.
- Good knowledge of CPU architecture (x86 and/or ARM).
- Experience with source control systems (git, Perforce, or similar).
- Ability to self-manage, communicate clearly, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with CUDA or OpenCL and GPU compute programming models.
- Experience with code patching and low-level binary formats (ELF/DWARF).
- Experience working in driver, compiler, or tools development teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science (BS/MS) or equivalent practical experience.
