Job Title

Senior Software Engineer - CI for Performance Tools

Role Summary

Build and maintain continuous-integration and validation infrastructure for Arm's telemetry and performance methodology tooling. The role sits on a team that produces open-source reference tools used by internal performance teams, IP architects, partners and the wider community.

Experience Level

Senior. No specific years-of-experience requirement stated.

Responsibilities

You will design, implement and operate CI and validation systems that make performance evaluation repeatable and scalable.

  • Build and evolve CI infrastructure validating performance methodologies across cloud, on-prem and hardware targets.
  • Design controlled, reproducible test environments to separate real regressions from environmental noise.
  • Develop synthetic workloads and targeted microbenchmarks (occasionally in AArch64/assembly) to support validation.
  • Collaborate with architects and analysis teams to translate methodologies into validation strategies.
  • Partner with IP and silicon teams to ensure tooling and methodologies work on next-generation products.
  • Scale testing and validation coverage as new methodologies, tools and hardware are introduced.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and core capabilities, plus desirable skills that strengthen candidacy.

  • Must-have: Experience building reliable automated test systems where reproducibility matters.
  • Understanding of performance measurement in CI environments, including noise and regression detection.
  • Strong Python for workflow automation, tooling and data processing.
  • Proven debugging skills and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Proactive about improving CI reliability, validation coverage and developer feedback loops.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of C/C++ and AArch64 assembly.
  • Familiarity with hardware system architecture (pipelines, caches, MMUs, interconnects, timers, multithreading).
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing, benchmark automation or performance dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Linux performance tooling (perf, ftrace) or telemetry systems.
  • No relocation package is available for this role; if visa sponsorship is required, Arm will cover sponsorship costs for the employee only (fees for spouse/dependants are the candidate's responsibility).

Education Requirements

Not specified.
