Role Summary
Design and implement chip-specific kernel drivers and embedded system software to enable NVIDIA chip platforms from pre-silicon modeling through production deployment. Work within the Chips System Software organization, collaborating closely with hardware, silicon, pre-silicon, and software teams.
Primary focus areas include Linux kernel development, core OS enablement, platform bring-up, and automation across simulation, FPGA, and silicon environments.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include end-to-end technical ownership of system software and platform bring-up.
- Design, develop, and verify features for next-generation chip architectures in collaboration with hardware teams.
- Influence hardware and system software architecture via reviews and design specifications.
- Bring up new platforms, products, and prototype systems with hardware, silicon, and pre-silicon teams.
- Enable Linux and core OS software across simulation, emulation, FPGA, and silicon platforms.
- Debug and resolve complex hardware/software integration issues across multiple stack layers.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required for the role.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with complex hardware and software system designs.
- Strong C programming skills and experience with Linux kernel development and core OS software.
- Experience developing and debugging Linux device drivers.
- Strong system-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with computer architecture fundamentals: caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, interrupts, and low-level hardware interactions.
- Proven ability to independently drive projects from design through deployment with strong end-to-end ownership.
Nice-to-have
- Deep expertise in Linux kernel internals and enabling Linux on pre-silicon and silicon platforms.
- Experience with Buildroot and Linux distributions.
- Contributions to Linux kernel or other open-source projects.
- Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture, design, mentoring, or cross-functional project execution.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
