Role Summary
Join the Chips System Software organization to design and develop chip-specific kernel drivers and embedded software. The role focuses on Linux kernel development, core OS enablement, platform bring-up, and automation across pre-silicon and silicon platforms.
You will collaborate with hardware, silicon, pre-silicon, and software teams to enable new chip platforms from early modeling through production deployment.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include design, implementation, and platform enablement for next-generation chips.
- Design, develop, and verify features for next-generation chip architectures and kernel drivers.
- Participate in architecture reviews and produce design specifications that influence hardware and system-software design.
- Lead platform bring-up across simulation, emulation, FPGA, and silicon with hardware and pre-silicon teams.
- Enable Linux and core OS software across modeling and physical platforms.
- Debug and resolve complex hardware/software integration issues across multiple stack layers.
- Drive projects end-to-end with technical ownership from design through deployment.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of relevant software development experience working on complex hardware/software systems.
- Strong expertise in C programming and Linux kernel development.
- Experience developing and debugging Linux device drivers.
- Proven system-level debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Familiarity with computer architecture fundamentals: caches, buses, memory controllers, DMA, interrupts, and low-level hardware interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to own and deliver projects independently.
Nice-to-have:
