Senior Software Engineer (C++, AI/ML, OOP, Linux)

Role Summary

Develop C++ software and data-analysis tooling for advanced mask inspection systems within the RAPID division. Work with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, mechanical, optical, algorithm, and software engineers) to integrate AI/ML features, improve tool availability, and deliver production-grade machine control and analytics.

Experience Level

Senior. Experience guidance per posted minimums: Doctorate + 0 years, Master’s + 3 years, or Bachelor’s + 5 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

Primary technical and delivery responsibilities include:

• Design and implement inspection machine control software and data analytics solutions in C++.
• Integrate AI/ML models into production tools, and evaluate model training and inference flows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement system-level requirements.
• Optimize and maintain existing code for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Support integration and test activities and resolve escalations at customer sites.

• Must-have: Proven experience in C++ programming, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
• Must-have: Strong debugging and data-analysis skills in multi-threaded and multi-process applications.
• Must-have: Proficiency with Linux-based development environments.
• Must-have: Experience developing machine control or production software and collaborating with hardware/algorithm teams.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with RPC/REST APIs and interface definitions.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Singularity) and Kubernetes deployment.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to databases (PostgreSQL, Prometheus) and observability tools (Grafana).
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with frontend UI frameworks (Qt, Vue, React, Angular, Gtk) and modern tooling.
