Job Title

Senior Software Engineer (Aprisa OPT/CTS)

Role Summary

Develop placement optimization technologies within the Aprisa R&D team to improve performance, power, area and timing convergence for advanced semiconductor designs. Collaborate closely with CTS, routing, and timing-analysis teams to deliver integrated implementation solutions across the physical design flow.

Onsite role at the Aprisa R&D site in Taipei/HsinChu focused on algorithm development, software implementation, and cross-team integration.

Experience Level

Senior-level; 5–10 years of relevant software or EDA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver algorithmic and software solutions that improve PPA and timing convergence across the implementation flow. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement timing-driven and congestion-aware placement optimization algorithms.
  • Develop buffering and buffer-optimization methodologies to improve timing and routability while minimizing area and power overhead.
  • Collaborate with CTS, routing, and timing-analysis teams to improve timing correlation between placement and clock tree synthesis.
  • Work across implementation stages to enhance timing predictability, convergence, and overall design quality.
  • Debug, profile, and optimize large-scale software for performance and scalability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and modern debugging techniques for complex software systems.
  • Experience with placement algorithms, legalization, timing-driven optimization, or congestion optimization.
  • Understanding of CTS methodologies, useful-skew optimization, and timing correlation challenges.
  • Proven ability to develop new algorithms and optimize large-scale software projects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and effective teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. The posting also cites 5–10 years of experience as desirable and indicates equivalent practical experience may be acceptable.
