Job Title

Senior Software Engineer (Aprisa OPT/CTS)

Role Summary

Join the Aprisa R&D team to develop placement optimization technologies that improve performance, power, area (PPA), routability, and timing convergence for advanced semiconductor designs.

The role collaborates with CTS, routing, and timing-analysis teams to deliver integrated implementation solutions across the physical design flow at the Taipei site.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting indicates a desirable range of approximately 5–10 years of relevant experience in large-scale software projects or algorithm development.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include developing placement and buffer optimization technologies and improving timing predictability across implementation stages.

  • Design and implement timing-driven and congestion-aware placement optimization algorithms.
  • Develop buffering and buffer-optimization methodologies to improve timing and routability while minimizing area and power overhead.
  • Collaborate with CTS (clock tree synthesis) to improve timing correlation between placement and CTS.
  • Work across implementation stages to enhance timing predictability, convergence, and overall design quality.
  • Integrate placement optimizations with routing and timing analysis to improve PPA for leading-edge designs.

Requirements

Technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred for successful performance in this role.

  • Must-have
    • Proficiency in C/C++ development and debugging.
    • Knowledge of placement algorithms, legalization, timing-driven optimization, or congestion optimization.
    • Understanding of clock tree synthesis (CTS) methodologies and timing correlation challenges.
    • Experience developing or optimizing large-scale software systems or algorithms.
  • Nice-to-have
    • Experience with useful-skew optimization and CTS-specific techniques.
    • Experience in enterprise-scale software projects or EDA tool development.
    • Strong verbal and written communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred but not strictly required. The posting also accepts equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree; 5–10 years of relevant experience is noted as desirable.
