Job Title

Senior Software Engineer

Role Summary

Hybrid role on Intel's Sort Test Technology Development (STTD) team to design, build, and maintain cloud-native applications and distributed systems that support semiconductor manufacturing and test operations.

Owner of full-stack solutions spanning cloud and on-prem infrastructure, with emphasis on security, reliability, automation, and operational excellence while working with internal stakeholders and external customers.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Minimum 4+ years of software development experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities span software development, infrastructure management, automation, and operational support.

  • Design, develop, test, and debug cloud-native applications, platform services, APIs, microservices, and automation tools.
  • Build and maintain distributed systems and data services with focus on reliability and performance.
  • Deploy and manage hybrid cloud and on-prem infrastructure, including servers, VMs, virtualization, and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Operate and scale on-prem compute platforms to support development, testing, and production workloads.
  • Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, build/deploy automation, and configuration management.
  • Manage OS lifecycle tasks such as patching, validation, and change management.
  • Provide operational support: monitoring, logging, incident response, root-cause analysis, and reliability improvements.
  • Produce and maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

  • Must-have: U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government TS security clearance and SCI access.
  • Must-have: 4+ years of software development experience, including designing, testing, and debugging production software.
  • Must-have: Proficiency with one or more programming languages such as C#, .NET, Java, C++, Go, or Python.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Azure and/or on-prem infrastructure (servers/VMs, virtualization, containers, Kubernetes).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with cloud-native tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and hybrid integration.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code (examples: GitHub, Ansible).
  • Nice-to-have: Active TS/SCI clearance and a postgraduate degree in a related STEM field.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field. Preferred: postgraduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field. Relevant industry experience, internships, or equivalent coursework may substitute where noted in the candidate guidance.
