Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - NPI Bring-up SDET
NVIDIAJob Title
Senior Software Development Engineer in Test - NPI Bring-up SDET
Role Summary
Senior SDET on the Compute CUDA Quality Assurance team responsible for validation readiness of PCIe data center GPU programs from early silicon bring-up through release. The role focuses on test planning, automation, defect triage, and cross-team coordination across drivers, CUDA, firmware, and system platforms.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of experience in software quality, test automation, or software development and validation.
Responsibilities
Responsible for planning and delivering validation coverage, building automation, and driving issue resolution across hardware and software stacks.
- Develop CUDA compute test plans and coordinate validation across PCIe GPUs, systems, OEM servers, OSes, driver modes, CUDA versions, and release stages.
- Design and implement test applications and automation frameworks using Python, C, C++, CUDA, and Bash; build CI pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins) and automated regression coverage from manual tests and field failures.
- Debug and isolate failures across hardware, firmware, OS, driver, and application layers; separate product regressions from infrastructure or intermittent issues and drive defects with clear reproduction steps and evidence.
- Apply AI-assisted analytics to analyze test runs and validate conclusions against logs and engineering input.
- Collaborate with CUDA, driver, architecture, firmware, system platform, QA, and program teams to assess release risk and close gaps to release readiness.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience; nice-to-have items summarize additional helpful experience.
- Must-have: 8+ years experience in software quality, test automation, or software validation; strong troubleshooting on Linux and Windows.
- Must-have: Proficiency in scripting and programming with Python, C, C++, CUDA, and Bash; experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Must-have: Experience with QA methodology, risk-based test planning, functional validation, regression strategy, release readiness, log analysis, root-cause isolation, and defect triage.
- Must-have: Strong communication and teamwork skills for explaining release risk and coordinating ownership and dependencies.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with GPU hardware validation (multi-GPU, P2P, reliability/stress testing), CUDA C/C++ parallel programming, and PCIe-based data center GPUs.
- Nice-to-have: Experience developing scalable validation infrastructure for labs, cloud, containers, virtualization, or configuration management.
- Nice-to-have: Practical use of AI-assisted analytics for test planning, automation, or failure analysis.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
