Job Title

Senior Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

Temporary two-year contract role on an Intel Server software team focused on diagnostic, validation and optimization tools for Intel Server products. The role owns development and maintenance of software capabilities that enable high-quality product launches and in-fleet performance.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 6+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly in software development, validation or systems-level software.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include development, validation and cross-team technical collaboration to ensure server software quality and performance:

  • Develop and maintain diagnostic and analysis tools to debug and optimize server performance.
  • Define and drive critical software validation tasks across platforms and releases.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to reproduce, analyze and resolve issues; provide impact assessments and remediation plans.
  • Implement and improve CI/CD and software validation workflows.
  • Support product launches and in-fleet customer validation/debug activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, experience and work authorization. Preferred items are listed separately.

  • 6+ years of professional experience in software development and validation.
  • Strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills, including object-oriented design and multithreaded programming.
  • Experience with software validation practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with system software components such as Linux and Windows internals, drivers, and runtime behavior.
  • Intermediate to advanced English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Unrestricted permanent right to work in Mexico (required).

Nice-to-have:

  • Low-level firmware coding and debugging experience.
  • Experience with Intel Xeon architecture, Un-Core, performance monitoring tools and hardware hooks.
  • Familiarity with thermal and power validation and customer debug workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related STEM field (listed in job qualifications). English-language resume required. Equivalent practical experience is not stated explicitly.
