Job Title
Senior SoC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Arm's Solution Engineering team in Toronto to develop and verify SoC demonstrator platforms based on Arm IP. Work with distributed RTL design and verification engineers to define verification strategy, implement testbenches, and ensure subsystem and system-level correctness and performance.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 4+ years of relevant SoC or compute-subsystem design and verification experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Review architecture and design specifications and define functional verification strategy for SoC projects.
- Produce test plans and develop SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and tests; debug failures and resolve issues.
- Verify subsystems and integration points such as PCIe/CXL, DDRx/LPDDRx and HBM within SoC RTL.
- Improve and contribute to team verification methodologies and tooling.
- Collaborate with microarchitecture, software, performance and project management teams on integration and schedules.
- Guide and support junior engineers to enable successful project delivery.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 4+ years of experience in design or verification of complex compute subsystems or SoCs.
- Solid understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
- Practical knowledge of current SoC verification strategies, including software-driven techniques.
- Experience verifying PCIe/CXL, DDRx/LPDDRx and HBM subsystems in RTL.
- Experience creating and tracking test plans and verifying RTL in SoC projects.
- Low-level programming experience (C and assembler).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Arm-based designs and Arm system architectures.
- Experience with SystemVerilog and verification methodologies (UVM/OVM/e).
- Familiarity with formal verification, clock-domain crossing verification, power-aware verification.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python or similar) and experience with emulation platforms or driver porting.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
