Senior SoC Power Management Architect

Role Summary

Join the Silicon Architecture team in the Client Computing and Physical AI Group to define SoC power-management architecture for next-generation client and AI platforms. Deliver system-level power, performance and thermal solutions from concept through silicon bring-up and high-volume manufacturing, collaborating across architecture, design, validation, and product teams.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typical experience: Bachelors degree + 8+ years, Masters degree + 5+ years, or PhD + 3+ years.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and develop SoC power-management architecture to optimize performance, efficiency, and thermal behavior.
  • Maintain a system-level perspective to align product goals, constraints, and implementations.
  • Evaluate design trade-offs and define feature requirements, specifications, and architecture solutions.
  • Drive power integration strategies across new and existing IP blocks.
  • Partner with hardware and software teams to ensure execution, validation, and enablement.
  • Support the product lifecycle from early concept through silicon bring-up and production.
  • Analyze post-silicon power/performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Contribute to debug, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Must-have experience and skills:

  • Proven experience with SoC architecture principles, definition, and development.
  • Experience designing or specifying power-management features and integration strategies.
  • System-level thinking with ability to balance performance, power, and area trade-offs.
  • Post-silicon data analysis and silicon debug experience.
  • Software development and scripting skills for validation and data analysis.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across hardware, software, and product teams.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, early-stage architecture environments and drive decisions to delivery.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing and cross-generation power optimization.

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of relevant experience; or Masters degree in the same fields with 5+ years of experience; or PhD in the same fields with 3+ years of experience.
