Job Title

Senior SoC Design Verification Engineer — PCIe

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for pre-silicon verification of PCIe logic across advanced AI chiplets and SoCs. Work with the SoC verification team to ensure connectivity, protocol compliance, interoperability, and features required for successful silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Senior-level. No explicit years-of-experience guidance provided in the source.

Responsibilities

Accountable for designing, running, and improving PCIe verification flows and for driving cross-team resolution of verification issues.

  • Develop and maintain verification environments and testbenches for PCIe controller and PHY-facing logic.
  • Create, refine, and execute tests for link training, enumeration, power management, error handling, and data movement.
  • Measure and close coverage gaps; analyze failures and lead debug with RTL, architecture, and system teams.
  • Automate protocol testing, interoperability validation, and repeatable flows for silicon bring-up.
  • Integrate verification workflows with platform validation and productivity tools, including AI-driven automation where applicable.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ensure timely verification milestones for tapeout and bring-up.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; followed by a few nice-to-have items.

  • Must-have: Strong expertise in UVM-based verification and experience verifying PCIe controller and PHY-facing logic, including LTSSM and protocol flows.
  • Must-have: Practical experience with PCIe Gen4/Gen5 features, compliance concepts, and interoperability testing.
  • Must-have: Proven ability to write and execute verification scenarios, debug complex failures, and close coverage gaps.
  • Must-have: Experience automating verification flows and scripting for productivity (e.g., Python or similar).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with Cocotb or similar co-simulation frameworks and experience integrating AI-driven automation into DV workflows.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior work on high-performance system-level connectivity or multi-chiplet SoC verification.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; proactive and detail-oriented work style.
