Job Title

Senior SoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification strategy and execution for complex system-on-chip (SoC) designs across block, subsystem, and full-SoC levels. Work with architects, RTL designers, security and validation teams to ensure functionality, security, performance, and quality of Intel silicon.

Provide technical leadership, improve verification methodologies and infrastructure, and mentor verification engineers to deliver shipping silicon.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 8+ years of relevant SoC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute scalable verification plans and test benches for block, subsystem, and SoC levels.
  • Perform functional verification and root-cause debugging in pre-silicon environments using simulation and emulation.
  • Develop and maintain reusable verification environments and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with SoC architects, RTL designers, post-silicon and physical design teams to close verification gaps.
  • Design and run security-focused test plans and incorporate lessons from post-silicon validation into test plans.
  • Document verification plans and present technical reviews to design and architecture teams.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers; influence verification methodology and strategy.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (concise):

  • 8+ years of SoC verification experience including test planning, implementation, and debug.
  • Proficiency with SystemVerilog and industry verification methodologies (OVM/UVM).
  • Experience with hardware simulation, emulation, and pre-silicon debug/root-cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of system/SoC architecture and microarchitecture concepts.
  • Proven ability to develop scalable, reusable verification environments and work closely with RTL teams.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Python/scripting for automation, low-power verification techniques, and DFT tools/techniques.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
