Job Title

Senior SoC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join a hardware design team delivering SoC subsystems used across IoT, Automotive and Infrastructure products. The role focuses on subsystem integration, developing microarchitecture specifications and RTL, and improving system performance, power and delivery.

You will work with IP teams, verification, performance analysis and project management to integrate IPs into coherent subsystems and resolve design and integration issues.

Experience Level

Senior. The job title indicates a senior-level position; no specific years-of-experience were stated.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Integrate incoming IP blocks into subsystems and the SoC, and verify their interfaces and interactions.
  • Review subsystem architecture and develop detailed microarchitecture specifications.
  • Design and deliver RTL for subsystems, including proposing refinements to IP teams based on system-level needs.
  • Review verification test plans, debug integration issues and fix design bugs.
  • Collaborate with performance analysis to evaluate and improve performance, power and area (PPA).
  • Run static design checks and resolve CDC, RDC, X-prop and lint issues.
  • Guide and support other engineers and coordinate with Project Management on plans and schedules.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Experience with digital hardware design and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Proven experience with complex SoC development and modern SoC design techniques.
  • Experience with static design checks (CDC, RDC, X-prop, lint) and fixing related issues.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Python or similar) for automation and tooling.
  • Experience with synthesis, timing analysis and power management techniques.
  • Track record delivering sophisticated RTL subsystems on schedule and making high-level PPA trade-offs.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ARM-based designs and ARM system architectures.
  • Knowledge of memory-system interconnect protocols (e.g. AMBA ACE-Lite, AXI).
  • Familiarity with processor subsystems, NoCs, security subsystems, PCIe subsystems or system power-management flows.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog verification methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
