Senior SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and deliver SoC-level hardware and subsystems for next-generation NVIDIA SoCs. Work across architecture, IP, verification, DFT, STA, low-power, and validation teams to ensure first-time-right silicon.
Responsible for SoC assembly, quality checks, connectivity signoff, bug triage, and mentoring engineers.
Experience Level
Senior — expects 3–12 years of hands-on SoC design experience as indicated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include driving SoC execution, coordinating cross-functional teams, and ensuring SoC readiness for silicon.
- Drive SoC execution: define, track, and resolve dependencies with verification, DFT, STA, low-power, and validation teams.
- Lead SoC assembly: perform SoC-level quality checks, connectivity reviews, lint and CDC reviews, and signoff.
- Manage bug triage, code reviews, and ECO implementation at SoC level.
- Participate in silicon architecture and micro-architecture reviews; collaborate with architecture, SW/FW, modeling, verification, emulation, and post-silicon validation teams.
- Collaborate with IP development teams on soft/hard IP selection, integration, and licensing.
- Hire, mentor, and develop SoC design engineers; identify process inefficiencies and propose improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 3–12 years of hands-on SoC design experience (as stated in posting).
- Expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Knowledge of AMBA protocols: AXI, AHB, APB.
- Understanding of SoC clock/reset/debug architecture and peripherals such as USB, PCIe, SDCC.
- Strong scripting skills in Perl or Python; experience developing tools and infrastructure.
- Experience with RTL build flows and Makefiles; synthesis experience is a plus.
- Experience working with SoC-level floorplanning is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
