Job Title
Senior SoC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Drive execution and delivery of next-generation SoCs by coordinating across architecture, design, verification, DFT, STA, low power, validation and software teams. Responsible for SoC assembly, connectivity reviews, signoff activities, bug triage, and ensuring a first-time-right silicon design.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires at least 3+ years of hands-on SoC design experience.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional work, enforcing SoC-level quality, and mentoring engineers.
- Drive SoC execution: define, track, and drive dependencies with verification, DFT, STA, low power and validation teams.
- Lead SoC assembly activities, run SoC-level quality checks, connectivity reviews, Lint and CDC reviews, and support signoff.
- Triages silicon bugs, perform code reviews, and manage ECOs at the SoC level.
- Participate in silicon architecture and micro-architecture reviews; collaborate with Architecture, SW/FW, Design, Modeling, Verification, Emulation, and Post‑Silicon Validation.
- Collaborate with IP teams on identification, selection, integration and licensing of soft and hard IP.
- Identify, hire, and mentor SoC design engineers; drive improvements in process and tooling.
Requirements
Key technical must-haves and desirable skills.
- 3+ years of hands-on SoC design experience with practical exposure to full SoC development cycles.
- Expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Knowledge of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB), SoC clocks/reset/debug architecture, and peripherals such as USB, PCIe and SDCC.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Perl, Python or similar) and experience building tools/infrastructure.
- Experience with RTL build flows and Makefiles; familiarity with synthesis is a plus.
- Experience working with SoC-level floorplanning teams is an advantage.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work across multiple teams to deliver schedule-driven milestones.
