Job Title
Senior SoC Architect
Role Summary
As a Senior SoC Architect in NVIDIA's Networking unit you will define the architecture of next-generation NIC and DPU products. You will join a small (~10 person) cross-disciplinary team and collaborate with software, ASIC design, verification, physical design and platform teams to improve performance and resolve full-chip issues.
Experience Level
Senior-level β typically requires 5+ years of relevant ASIC architecture, microarchitecture or performance experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Learn and document the NIC microarchitecture end-to-end and serve as an information source for design and verification engineers.
- Define system-level architecture for next-generation NIC and DPU products and coordinate with GPU and CPU teams.
- Specify and balance implementation of advanced features against backend, execution, and design constraints.
- Define product plan-of-record (POR) and system requirements for the NIC/DPU product line.
- Diagnose and resolve full-chip correctness and performance issues that span multiple units.
- Collaborate with board and package teams to account for constraints such as power, di/dt, thermal, and signal integrity.
- Work with SoC flows and protocol teams to ensure correct integration of PCIe, Ethernet, InfiniBand, and NvLink interfaces.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications and skills:
- 5+ years experience in ASIC design, microarchitecture, architecture, or performance engineering.
- At least 4 years hands-on experience coding in Verilog or VHDL.
- Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills and proven debug experience.
- Ability to coordinate and drive complex projects involving multiple teams and interfaces.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of SoC flows and high-speed protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, InfiniBand, NvLink).
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university; strong academic record expected.
