Senior Silicon Engineer, Power and Thermal Controllers
Role Summary
Lead productization and validation of power and thermal controllers from pre-silicon planning through bring-up, tuning, validation, and production. Work with architecture, design, firmware, software, and production teams to ensure silicon operates reliably and efficiently within product limits.
Based in Bengaluru, the role focuses on controller behavior, diagnostics, tuning strategies, and data-driven methods to improve performance and protection across NVIDIA silicon.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead productization of power and thermal controllers from pre-silicon planning through bring-up, tuning, validation, and production.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to define controller requirements and translate capabilities into production-ready solutions.
- Characterize and tune controller behavior across workloads, operating conditions, silicon variation, and product power/thermal limits.
- Correlate silicon behavior with pre-silicon expectations and resolve complex cross-domain problems involving silicon, firmware, software, power delivery, thermal, and performance.
- Develop and execute tuning strategies to improve power and thermal control while increasing product performance within built limits.
- Apply AI/ML and data-driven methods to analyze telemetry, detect anomalies, accelerate tuning, and improve debug efficiency.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- Over 5 years' experience in silicon power/performance, post-silicon bring-up, controller characterization, productization, or a related hardware role.
- Strong knowledge of silicon power, performance, and thermal characteristics, including voltage/frequency relationships, workloads, operating conditions, and system constraints.
- Hands-on experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, validation, and system-level hardware debugging.
- Experience analyzing interactions across hardware, firmware, software, power delivery, and thermal domains and resolving complex root-cause issues.
- Strong data-analysis and problem-solving skills: turn measurements into hypotheses, design experiments, and use results to drive engineering decisions.
Nice-to-have:
- Extensive background in power or thermal controllers, DVFS, telemetry, throttling, performance management, or silicon protection mechanisms on advanced ASIC/SoC products.
- Contributions that improved controller behavior, silicon performance, power efficiency, thermal management, bring-up, or productization methodology across programs.
- Experience correlating simulation, silicon, firmware, and system-level measurements and converting findings into production tuning.
- Experience applying AI/ML to engineering workflows such as controller tuning, characterization analytics, anomaly detection, or debug assistants.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience.
