Senior Signal Processing Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior Signal Processing Engineer, you will translate hardware behavior into mathematical models and co‑optimize optics, analog, and digital design to improve compute‑engine performance. You will work closely with optics, analog, and digital teams to drive simulations, modeling, and numerical validation for a photonics‑enabled AI hardware platform.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 5 years of relevant experience in telecom, high‑speed sensing, optimal control, signal processing, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with optics, analog, and digital teams to assess how low‑level hardware decisions affect chip characteristics and AI model performance.
• Design and build internal tools for accurate simulations and hardware optimization.
• Analyze the impact of physical noise and signal distortion and develop mathematical frameworks to mitigate those effects.
• Develop models that predict light–matter interaction behavior to guide digital and analog design choices.
• Provide mathematical validation and numerical proof to support architectural and design decisions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Minimum 5 years in relevant industries (telecom, high‑speed sensors, optimal control, signal processing, or related fields).
• Extensive experience in C/C++; strong Python skills.
• Strong numerical analysis, optimization, and mathematical modeling capabilities.
• Experience identifying and modeling dominant sources of variability, noise, and distortion using analytical tools and numerical simulation.
• Practical problem solving with a first‑principles approach to hardware–software co‑design.
• English proficiency required; French is a plus.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with photonics, optics modeling, or AI‑hardware co‑design workflows.
