Job Title

Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer - Hardware

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for signal-integrity (SI) and power-integrity (PI) analysis and optimization across ASIC, package, and PCB for high-speed systems. Work includes 3D and 2D electromagnetic modeling, system-level simulations, lab measurement correlation, and cross-functional collaboration to meet timing and loss budgets.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies at least 3+ years of industry experience; the role expects demonstrated independent technical contributions in SI/PI for high-speed interfaces.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include simulation, modeling, measurement correlation, and documentation to support high-speed system design.

  • Develop SI/PI solutions for complex system design problems involving package, PCB, connectors, and breakouts.
  • Model and optimize vias, connectors, sockets, breakouts and system components using 3D EM tools.
  • Perform system-level SI simulations for high-speed interfaces (e.g., NVLink, USB4, PCIe5, GDDR6, LPDDR5X).
  • Correlate and refine SI models using lab measurements and updated modelling methodologies.
  • Create substrate and board layout SI guidelines; perform post-layout SI extraction and review.
  • Automate simulations and data workflows; analyze and visualize results with tools such as JMP or MATLAB.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize ASIC, package, PCB, and mixed-signal circuit interactions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and practical experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Minimum 3+ years industry experience in signal or power integrity engineering.
  • Strong applied electromagnetics, transmission-line theory, and signal-processing background.
  • SI experience with one or more high-speed signaling standards (PCIe, USB, SATA, HDMI, HBM, DDR5, GDDR6, LPDDR5X, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with 3D EM tools (e.g., ANSYS HFSS, Q3D) and 2.5D/2D tools such as SIWAVE or Ansys2D.
  • Familiarity with system-level timing and loss budgets including silicon, package and board impairments.
  • Experience with lab equipment and measurements (VNA, TDR, DSO, ParBERT) and with tools such as ADS, Ansys Designer, JMP, Matlab, or Cadence Allegro is a plus.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering (or related technical field) is listed; the posting also accepts equivalent practical experience ("or equivalent experience").
