Job Title

Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer - Hardware

Role Summary

Senior engineer responsible for system-level signal and power integrity (SI/PI) for high-speed interfaces across ASIC, package, and PCB. Work with cross-functional hardware teams to model, simulate, measure, and optimize signal and power delivery networks for high-performance products.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 3+ years of industry experience (posting specifies 3+ years).

Responsibilities

Primary technical duties and scope:

  • Perform system-level SI simulations for high-speed links (NVLink 200 Gbps+, USB4, PCIe5, GDDR6, LPDDR5X).
  • Model vias, connectors, sockets and system components using 3D electromagnetic (EM) tools.
  • Design and optimize power delivery networks (PDN) across package and PCB domains.
  • Iterate and improve SI/PI models through lab measurements and simulation correlation.
  • Automate simulations, collect data, and analyze/visualize results using JMP, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize ASIC, package, PCB, and mixed-signal circuit designs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Must-have: Minimum 3+ years industry experience in SI/PI.
  • Must-have: SI/PI experience with one or more standards such as PCIe, USB, SATA, HDMI, HBM, DDR5, GDDR6, LPDDR5X.
  • Must-have: Hands-on use of 3D EM and field-solver tools (e.g., ANSYS HFSS, Q3D) and 2.5D tools (e.g., ANSYS SIWAVE) or similar.
  • Must-have: PDN evaluation experience using layout extraction tools and SPICE-based time-domain simulations.
  • Must-have: Experience with system-level timing or loss budgeting that includes silicon, package, and board impairments.
  • Must-have: Simulation automation and data analysis experience (JMP, MATLAB, or equivalent).
  • Nice-to-have: Lab measurement and debugging experience with VNA, TDR, DSO, ParBERT, oscilloscopes, or spectrum analyzers.
  • Nice-to-have: Deep expertise in high-speed interface SI/PI design, circuit design, board/package component design, or link architecture and timing methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
