Job Title

Senior Signal and Power Integrity Engineer

Role Summary

Lead board- and system-level signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) engineering for high-speed interfaces on PCBs and packages. Work with PCB and package design teams to define stack-ups, select materials, perform simulations, and verify designs through measurement and correlation.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting specifies a minimum of 4 years of experience as an SI/PI engineer.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, simulation, measurement, and cross-team integration to ensure SI/PI targets are met.

  • Lead board/system SI design: PCB stack-up definition, material selection, design-guide implementation, layout review, and post-layout analysis.
  • Perform system-level SI simulation for interfaces such as PCIe, LPDDR/DDR/GDDR, MIPI, HDMI, USB, and others.
  • Analyze and optimize PCB power-delivery networks (PDN).
  • Collaborate with Package and PCB Design teams to develop solutions for system SI/PI performance.
  • Support customer board designs and Application Engineering activities.
  • Perform TDR and VNA measurements for package/PCB material characterization and correlate models with measurements.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as an SI/PI engineer.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetics, transmission-line theory, and channel components.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing high-speed interfaces (PCIe, LPDDR/DDR/GDDR, MIPI, HDMI, USB, etc.).
  • Experience with industry-standard simulation tools such as HFSS, Sigrity, Hspice, or equivalents.
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB Designer and Constraints Manager or other PCB stack-up/design tools.
  • Familiarity with how high-volume PCB manufacturing affects channel signal integrity.

Nice-to-have:

  • Expertise in SI/PI design on industry-standard system platforms.
  • Exposure to package design, interface timing budgets, and system modeling.
  • Familiarity with high-speed transmitter/receiver design and equalization schemes.
  • Experience with signaling schemes such as NRZ and PAM4.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering is listed as preferred; equivalent practical experience is explicitly accepted. Field emphasis: Electrical Engineering or closely related technical fields.
