Job Title

Senior RTL / IP Design Engineer

Role Summary

Deliver silicon IP solutions across the design hierarchy from u-architecture through productization for programmable-logic based SOC designs. Work on IP design, integration, verification and support as part of a cross-functional Silicon IP & SoC team.

Experience Level

Senior level. The posting specifies a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; role expects proven independent engineering contributions and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

Engineers in this role lead and participate across multiple phases of IP product development.

  • Define micro-architecture and translate architecture into RTL implementation plans.
  • Execute RTL design, IP integration, documentation and productization tasks.
  • Develop and review comprehensive test plans including compliance and interoperability testing.
  • Act as a senior technical reviewer for u-architecture and implementation reviews.
  • Drive verification plans and provide critical feedback on design and verification approaches.
  • Support prototyping, validation, silicon bring-up and production tapeout activities.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across sites/time zones and provide regular project updates to management.

Requirements

Key technical skills, experience, and behavioral attributes expected for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in silicon IP development and methodologies.
  • Must-have: Hands-on Verilog RTL design experience and familiarity with simulation flows (VCS or equivalent).
  • Must-have: Proven experience contributing to complex silicon tapeouts and Design-for-Test methodologies.
  • Must-have: Scripting experience (Perl, Shell) for automation and flows.
  • Must-have: Deep practical experience with at least some of: PCIe, DMA engines, NVMe storage IP, Ethernet/TCP-IP, RDMA or related networking IPs.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and lead technical discussions.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems, propose solutions, and work independently on ambiguous technical challenges.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience improving RTL design and verification methodologies and contributing to IP architecture decisions.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science required; a master’s degree or equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
