Role Summary

Lead RTL design and architecture for complex ASIC/SoC digital subsystems within the Synopsys Digital IP Subsystem team. Responsible for translating requirements into micro-architectures, driving RTL quality, and coordinating with verification, DFT, and implementation teams to deliver first-time-right silicon.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 8+ years of hands-on RTL design and subsystem architecture experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include subsystem architecture, RTL delivery, and cross-functional coordination.

• Lead the complete subsystem lifecycle: requirements gathering, architecture definition, micro-architecture, implementation, and release.
• Develop functional specifications and implement RTL following best coding practices.
• Ensure RTL quality through linting, CDC checks, formal verification, and reviews.
• Collaborate with verification, DFT, synthesis, timing analysis, and physical implementation teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Integrate and support industry-standard protocols such as PCIe, DDR, UFS, USB, and AMBA.
• Apply low-power design methodologies and incorporate DFT considerations at the architectural level.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in technical reviews to share knowledge and improve processes.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and demonstrated experience.

• Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience in RTL design and subsystem architecture for complex ASIC/SoC projects.
• Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog, RTL coding practices, linting, CDC management, and formal verification tools.
• Experience with standard protocols: PCIe, DDR, UFS, USB, AMBA.
• Expertise in low-power design techniques and DFT architecture.
• Strong understanding of the ASIC design flow, including synthesis, timing analysis, and physical implementation.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through all project phases from specification to silicon.
• Nice-to-have: multiple successful tape-outs and prior leadership/mentorship experience.
