Job Title
Senior RTL Design Engineer (Silicon Engineering)
Role Summary
Design and deliver RTL for next-generation ASICs used in Starlink space and ground systems. Work on micro-architecture, RTL implementation in Verilog/SystemVerilog, verification integration, and support for synthesis/timing closure and silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 5+ years of RTL implementation experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver RTL and support cross-team integration and silicon validation.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs considering features, performance, and system constraints.
- Define micro-architecture and implement RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog; integrate into top-level designs.
- Deliver fully verified, synthesis- and timing-clean RTL; collaborate closely with verification engineers.
- Provide timing constraints and support physical implementation activities (synthesis, timing closure, formality checks).
- Participate in silicon bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging on target platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, practical experience, and eligibility requirements.
- 5+ years of RTL implementation experience focused on ASIC/SoC projects.
- Strong Verilog/SystemVerilog RTL implementation skills and familiarity with RTL design flows.
- Experience with timing constraints, synthesis flows, and supporting physical implementation teams.
- Familiarity with EDA tools such as HDL simulators and lint tools; ability to work with verification teams.
- Willingness to work extended hours or weekends for critical deadlines.
- ITAR/export control eligibility: must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or otherwise eligible for required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with clock-domain crossing techniques and power-optimization.
- ASIC/SoC system integration and embedded CPU subsystem experience.
- Familiarity with standard bus protocols (AXI, AHB) and high-speed/low-power design techniques.
- Scripting skills (Python) and familiarity with common silicon verification/implementation tools.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in cross-disciplinary teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required (as stated in the posting).
