Role Summary

Remote contractor role (open to candidates in the United States) responsible for designing and documenting realistic chip engineering problems and delivering complete reference solutions. Work focuses on RTL and verification at production rigor and maintaining consistent quality across submitted materials.

Senior-level. No specific years of experience stated; expects experience with production silicon/tapeout and independent technical ownership.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and document realistic, production-level chip engineering problems covering design, debugging, and verification.
• Deliver complete reference solutions: RTL, testbenches, and supporting materials using SystemVerilog/Verilog and industry-standard toolchains.
• Evaluate model outputs against engineering problems; identify gaps and provide structured technical feedback.
• Collaborate with engineers to set and maintain consistent quality and difficulty standards across submissions.
• Apply domain knowledge across subsystem and SoC-level concerns, including interface protocols, clock domain crossings, and multi-module dataflow.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Strong ASIC/SoC design or functional verification experience; exposure to production silicon or tapeout preferred.
• Proficient in SystemVerilog/Verilog; able to write clean, production-quality RTL and testbench code.
• Experience with verification toolchains such as Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium, Siemens Questa, Verdi, or open-source equivalents (Icarus Verilog, Verilator, Cocotb).
• Specialized expertise in at least one domain: RTL microarchitecture, IP integration/bring-up, UVM-based verification, formal verification/coverage closure, PPA/synthesis optimization, or specification authoring.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills; able to work independently and document complex technical problems and solutions precisely.

Nice-to-have:

• Prior experience producing teaching or reference materials for training platforms.
