Job Title
Senior RTL Design Engineer, AI Hardware
Role Summary
Design and implement RTL micro-architectures for Tenstorrent's AI hardware platform. Work with RTL, verification, performance, and physical-design teams to optimize performance, power, and area for production silicon.
Experience Level
Senior. The posting indicates senior-level qualification (Sr.); the interview process may place candidates at an appropriate level.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and refine micro-architectural features in Verilog/SystemVerilog targeting AI workloads.
- Analyze performance bottlenecks and propose trade-offs that balance power, area, and frequency.
- Collaborate with RTL, DV, performance, and physical-design teams to evaluate design choices.
- Debug RTL in simulation and post-silicon environments; interpret synthesis and timing reports.
- Contribute to internal tools and flows to improve design and debug productivity.
- Participate in reviews and documentation to support production-quality silicon delivery.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
-
Must-have: Strong foundation in digital design and micro-architecture; practical RTL development and debug experience.
- Proficiency writing and reading Verilog or SystemVerilog and interpreting synthesis/timing results.
- Experience with clock/reset, power, boot, and debug logic in RTL designs.
- Ability to analyze performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations across power/area/frequency trade-offs.
- Experience debugging in simulation and post-silicon environments and improving internal flows.
- Effective collaborator across design, verification, and physical implementation teams.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior experience with AI/ML accelerator architectures, RISC-V integration, or production silicon tapeout.
- Willingness to learn and adopt Tenstorrent's specific toolchains and design practices.
- Note: Employment may be contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; offers may require specific citizenship/permanent-residency status or governmental license approval.
Education Requirements
