Senior RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Senior RTL engineer in a multidisciplinary Bristol team designing digital IP used across AI, automotive, edge and infrastructure products. Responsible for micro-architecture and RTL implementation and for collaborating with architects, verification, back-end and subsystem teams to deliver silicon-quality IP.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Analyse specifications and identify implementation challenges; work with architects to refine designs.
  • Plan, track and coordinate tasks for self and contribute to team task planning.
  • Collaborate with verification, back-end implementation, performance, power analysis and subsystem teams to meet functional, area, power, performance and integration requirements.
  • Improve and evolve RTL design methodology and flows.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proven micro-architecture and RTL design experience using SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL.
  • Ability to evaluate high-level design trade-offs and justify design decisions.
  • Knowledge of ASIC or FPGA design methodology and IP signoff approaches, with understanding of timing/area/complexity trade-offs for complex datapaths.
  • Experience with static design checks, synthesis, timing analysis and power management techniques.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with memory-system interconnects (e.g., AMBA ACE-Lite, AXI).
  • Experience with PCIe, I/O virtualization and address-translation.
  • SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and formal verification experience.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Tcl, C shell, Python).
  • Knowledge of hardware verification languages and functional-safety methodologies.
