Senior RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and integrate RTL for digital IP and SoC microarchitecture. Work with verification, physical design, and system teams to implement clock/reset strategies, interconnects, and address integration issues during chip bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical guidance: 3β5 years of RTL/design experience. Qualcomm minimum qualifications list Bachelor's + 2+ years, Master's + 1+ year, or PhD in a related technical field (details below).
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include design, integration, verification support, and cross-team collaboration.
- Architect and implement RTL for digital IP and SoC microarchitecture.
- Design and validate clocking and reset schemes.
- Implement and verify interconnect interfaces (AHB, AXI).
- Lead SoC integration activities and resolve integration issues.
- Identify and mitigate CDC (clock-domain crossing) problems.
- Collaborate with verification, physical design, and bring-up teams to support silicon integration and troubleshooting.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (education requirements are listed separately below).
- 3β5 years of RTL design experience with exposure to digital IP architecture and SoC microarchitecture.
- Practical experience with interconnect bus protocols such as AHB and AXI.
- Hands-on SoC integration experience and familiarity with large-scale SoC integration aspects.
- Experience addressing clock/reset design and CDC issues during integration.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams during verification, physical design, and bring-up phases.
Nice-to-have: experience with PLDRC and large-scale silicon integration/bring-up.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field plus 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience; OR Master's degree in the same fields plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.
