Senior RTL Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join the ASM Auto team developing application-specific microcontrollers (MCUs) for automotive systems such as traction control, onboard charging/DC-DC converters, lighting, body control, engine management, and braking. The role centers on RTL microarchitecture, ARM-based SoC integration, and delivery of automotive-grade MCU subsystems.
Collaborate with IP, systems, verification, DFT, emulation, and physical implementation teams to deliver robust, scalable designs for production SoCs.
Experience Level

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include microarchitecture definition, SoC integration, cross-team collaboration, and ensuring design quality and compliance.
- Define and develop microarchitecture for CPU subsystems, low-power subsystems, and Reset & Clock Management modules.
- Own SoC integration for automotive MCUs and ensure efficient, scalable designs.
- Collaborate with IP, Systems, and Architecture teams to derive requirements and align microarchitecture for IPs and subsystems.
- Coordinate with Design Verification (DV), Design for Testability (DFT), Emulation, and Physical Implementation teams to meet quality and delivery targets.
- Participate in debug sessions and design reviews; ensure design robustness and compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience are listed below; preferred items follow.
Must-have:
- 2–5 years of hands-on RTL development for IPs and SoCs.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and Verilog.
- Experience with SoC integration involving ARM processors and ARM bus architectures.
- Knowledge of reset and clocking architectures for SoCs.
- Familiarity with standard interfaces (SPI/QSPI, I2C, Debug/Trace, CAN).
- Experience with front-end tools and flows: Lint, CDC, LEC, and power estimation tools (e.g., JasperGold, Conformal, Joules).
- Understanding of DFT concepts and design-for-testability.
- Experience with constraints, timing analysis, and optimization techniques.
- Experience with industry-standard simulators and formal verification tools (e.g., Incisive, JasperGold).
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills; ability to guide junior engineers.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with automotive-grade SoC designs and ISO 26262 (functional safety) processes.
- Familiarity with power management and low-power design techniques.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, TCL) for automation.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
