Job Title

Senior RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Join a specialist, multi-disciplinary team in Bristol to develop digital IP used across Physical AI, Automotive, Edge and Infrastructure computing. The role focuses on delivering high-quality RTL implementations and collaborating with architects, verification, back-end and subsystem teams to meet functional, performance, area and power requirements.

Senior level. Years of experience not specified; requires demonstrated senior RTL and micro-architecture experience.

Responsibilities

The role's core responsibilities include:

  • Analyse specifications and collaborate with architects to refine implementation choices.
  • Plan, track and coordinate tasks for yourself and the team.
  • Implement synthesizable RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog/VHDL) for complex datapath designs.
  • Work with verification, back-end implementation, performance and power teams to meet functional, timing, area, power and integration requirements.
  • Improve design methodology and adapt flows to evolving project needs.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Proven track record of micro-architecture and RTL design using SystemVerilog, Verilog or VHDL.
  • Experience with ASIC or FPGA design methodology, signoff methods, synthesis and timing analysis.
  • Ability to navigate high-level design trade-offs and explain the rationale for decisions.
  • Familiarity with static design checks and power management techniques.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of memory system interconnects (AMBA ACE-Lite, AXI), PCIe, I/O virtualization and address translation.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA), formal verification and hardware verification languages.
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Tcl, C shell, Python).
  • Understanding of Functional Safety methodologies.
