Job Title

Senior RTL Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and micro-architect SoC subsystems and IP blocks for high-performance connectivity networking products. Collaborate with verification, physical design, software, and FPGA teams to deliver production-quality silicon and support successful tapeout.

Experience Level

Senior-level. No explicit company years-of-experience labeled for the senior title in the posting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include RTL design, integration, and cross-team coordination to meet area, power and performance targets.

  • Micro-architect and implement RTL for SoC subsystems and IP blocks.
  • Perform RTL quality checks (lint, CDC, LEC) and develop synthesis constraints.
  • Create and maintain microarchitecture and design documentation.
  • Analyze, debug, and fix issues reported by verification teams.
  • Collaborate with SOC architects and leads on integration, verification plans, DFT, and PD implementation.
  • Support physical design, verification, software, and FPGA teams through design handoff and tapeout.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for this role.

  • Proven multi-project experience in RTL SoC design using Verilog and ASIC debug methodologies.
  • Proficient in reviewing test plans and coverage metrics.
  • Expertise in synthesis flows (Design Compiler) and formal verification using LEC.
  • Strong understanding of timing closure and timing-driven design.
  • Experience developing synthesis constraints and supporting physical implementation teams.
  • Effective communicator and team player with leadership aptitude to drive program execution.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with SerDes PHY, DSP, analog mixed-signal, Ethernet and PCIe standards; knowledge of bus protocols (AHB, AXI) and peripherals.
  • Nice-to-have: architecture and micro-architecture design capability.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications state one of: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field with 1+ year of relevant experience; OR a PhD in a related field.
