Senior RF Test Systems Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and maintain automated RF test systems, measurement tools, and engineering applications to evaluate Qorvo RF products for cellular technologies. Provide technical support to internal teams and customers to troubleshoot RF hardware, test setups, and system-level performance issues.
Experience Level
Senior - 5+ years of RF engineering, RF test, or related hardware development experience (or equivalent).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, enhance, and maintain automated RF test systems and measurement tools.
- Create desktop and web-based tools for RF data collection, analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Validate and analyze performance for LTE, 5G and legacy cellular technologies (WCDMA, CDMA, GSM).
- Operate RF signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, power meters, and other test equipment to evaluate hardware.
- Analyze measurement data, identify trends, perform root-cause analysis, and improve test methodologies.
- Develop data-driven or AI-assisted tools for test automation, anomaly detection, and report generation.
- Read and interpret datasheets, schematics, block diagrams, and RF front-end documentation to support debug.
- Support customers with integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of drivers and Qorvo components.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, applications, and product teams and participate in technical discussions with stakeholders.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 5+ years of experience in RF engineering, RF test, hardware development, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands-on experience with RF measurement equipment (signal generators, spectrum/network analyzers, power meters).
- Strong working knowledge of LTE and 5G technologies and ability to troubleshoot system-level RF issues.
- Experience developing automated test solutions or engineering tools using .NET/C#/VB.NET, Python, C/C++, or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, schematics, and block diagrams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for cross-team and customer interactions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with legacy cellular technologies (WCDMA, CDMA, GSM).
- Familiarity with RF front-end architectures and product evaluation methods.
- Experience with Git, Visual Studio, or similar development tools.
- Exposure to AI/ML, advanced analytics, or LLM-enabled applications for test automation and RF data analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent practical experience (the posting also states "5+ years of experience or an equivalent amount of education and experience").
