Senior RF/Analog Analysis and Characterization Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for pre- and post-silicon analysis, characterization and bring-up of RF and analog circuit building blocks to ensure functional and performance specifications are met. Works across block and system levels to validate designs, diagnose issues, and provide data that informs product datasheets and design fixes.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting indicates more than 3 years of experience in RF/Analog system or chip design.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include lab bring-up, evaluation, debugging and documentation of RF/analog blocks and system performance.
- Understand system- and block-level behavior and interfaces.
- Identify problems during pre-silicon validation and test planning.
- Define and implement RF/analog driver definitions and fixes.
- Define evaluation methods and specify which key parameters will be tested and correlated.
- Bring up chips in the lab and perform chip-level performance evaluation.
- Debug block- and system-level issues and drive mitigation actions with design teams.
- Optimize silicon system performance through measurement and analysis.
- Create and maintain full documentation and results at block and system level.
- Develop automation and tooling for analysis, debugging and data collection.
- Analyze measurement statistics and produce formal datasheet parameters.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience needed to perform the role.
Must-have:
- >3 years experience in RF/Analog system design or chip design.
- Proficient with Cadence Virtuoso (schematics and layout).
- Hands-on experience with RF/analog test equipment and lab measurements.
- Experience debugging and resolving complex silicon issues.
- Strong written and spoken English and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to influence technical decisions, meet goals and deadlines, and mentor colleagues.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Python and LabVIEW for test automation and data analysis.
- Awareness of external competitive solutions and industry trends.
Education Requirements
Master or Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (as listed by the employer).
