Senior Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Failure Analysis team based in Palm Bay, FL. Focus on reliability and root-cause analysis of power-management semiconductor devices to support product development and production quality.

Work involves electrical and physical failure analysis, reporting findings, and collaborating with design, test, and manufacturing teams.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of semiconductor device failure analysis experience or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform failure analysis and root-cause investigations on power-management devices and related products.
• Use non-destructive and imaging isolation techniques (curve tracer, X-ray, SAM, photon emission microscopy, OBIRCh, thermal emission) to locate faults.
• Apply deprocessing methods (wet chemistry, polishing, plasma) and other physical analysis techniques.
• Power up and characterize fault symptoms using bench equipment; interpret electrical behavior to guide analysis.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and layouts to support investigations.
• Document findings and communicate results clearly to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Proven semiconductor device failure analysis experience, including electrical isolation and physical failure analysis techniques.
• Practical experience with package and non-destructive techniques (curve tracer, X-ray, SAM) and imaging methods.
• Hands-on experience using bench test equipment to reproduce and characterize failures.
• Familiarity with diode and transistor behavior and failure modes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical findings.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a laboratory environment.

Nice-to-have:

• Failure analysis experience specifically with power electronics and power-management products.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent practical experience in semiconductor failure analysis is acceptable.
