Senior R&D PI Engineer
Role Summary
Work on power integrity (PI) for SerDes IP within the analog and mixed-signal R&D team. Provide PI modeling, analysis, and validation to support IP development and integration across cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of relevant experience in mixed-signal PCB design and power integrity.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Create and review power-integrity (PI) models for SerDes IP.
- Assess PI performance of IP designs and advise the analog design team.
- Lead PI and signal-quality validation during board bring-up and bench testing.
- Perform EMC/EMI analysis from schematic through layout, simulation, and bench validation.
- Support customer PI cases and technical investigations.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to ensure design reliability and integration.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Must-have: 8+ years in mixed-signal PCB design for high-density systems.
- Power integrity and EMC/EMI analysis experience across schematic, layout, simulation, and bench validation.
- Experience leading board bring-up and PI/signal-quality validation.
- Experienced with circuit simulation tools (HSPICE, PSPICE or equivalent).
- Experience working in UNIX environments; strong written and verbal English.
- Nice-to-have: MATLAB; Ansys Totem; experience with SerDes or high-speed interface IP.
Education Requirements
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering.
