Senior Product Engineer - RF
Role Summary
Senior Product Engineer supporting RF and microwave product development for communications, test & measurement, industrial, and aerospace & defense applications. Lead product development and qualification efforts, design test hardware, and work across functions to meet product requirements and production readiness.
Role requires hands-on RF/microwave measurement experience, mentorship of junior engineers, and occasional international export-licensing reviews for non-U.S. applicants.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in RF/microwave product development or similar roles.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include technical leadership across product development, test, and qualification activities.
- Lead system and product design, development, and implementation from concept to production.
- Plan and execute product qualification and reliability testing for multiple product lines.
- Perform RF/µWave/mmWave analysis and hands-on measurement to validate performance and reliability.
- Design and develop test hardware and fixtures from concept through production release.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, manufacturing, quality, and customers) to meet requirements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation: test plans, datasheets, and user guides.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work breakdown structures, and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
- Travel as required (approximately 10%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus a short list of desirable skills.
- Must-have: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in RF/microwave product development and qualification.
- Strong practical knowledge of RF engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience with µWave/mmWave measurement techniques and RF test equipment.
- Proficiency with PCB CAD/layout tools (e.g., Cadence Allegro) and standard engineering tools.
- Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis for test and qualification.
- Effective written and verbal communication, time management, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Nice-to-have: Lab instrumentation hands-on experience, coursework or exposure to DSP, wireless communications, RF systems/circuits; familiarity with C, Python, or LabVIEW scripting.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
