Senior Product Engineer, PrimeTime Signoff Solutions
SynopsysJob Title
Senior Product Engineer, PrimeTime Signoff Solutions
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for deployment and production readiness of PrimeTime timing signoff solutions at strategic semiconductor customers. Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and customer-facing teams to resolve signoff issues, validate new architectures, and convert customer problems into product requirements.
Focus areas include distributed STA (HyperGrid), IR-aware timing, thermal- and aging-aware signoff, and multi-die timing closure.
Experience Level
Senior-level. (Title indicates a senior role; no explicit years-of-experience guidance provided.)
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities center on customer deployments, technical escalation resolution, and feeding deployment experience into the product roadmap.
- Lead production deployment of PrimeTime capabilities, including HyperGrid distributed STA, native IR-aware timing, thermal-aware signoff, aging analysis, and multi-die timing closure.
- Drive direct technical engagements with advanced-node customer design teams and resolve high-priority signoff blockers.
- Partner with R&D to evaluate cloud-native and AI-assisted architectures, validate functionality, and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Own beta programs and pre-production evaluations from kickoff through production readiness, defining test plans and success criteria.
- Perform structured root-cause analysis for critical customer escalations and deliver effective workarounds and long-term fixes.
- Translate deployment experience and competitive intelligence into clear roadmap recommendations for Product Management and engineering leadership.
- Create deployment guides, best-practice methodologies, training materials, and executive briefings to accelerate adoption.
Requirements
Required technical skills and domain experience; items marked "Nice-to-have" are preferred but not mandatory.
- Must-have: Deep hands-on experience with PrimeTime or comparable timing signoff tools across multiple production tapeouts, including multi-corner multi-mode analysis and advanced-node signoff challenges.
- Must-have: Strong understanding of static timing analysis fundamentals: setup/hold analysis, clock domain crossing, false paths, multi-cycle paths, and constraint methodology.
- Must-have: Proficiency in Tcl and Python for automation, analysis, and debugging of complex timing scenarios.
- Must-have: Proven track record of solving complex technical problems in EDA, ASIC/SoC design, or physical implementation environments.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with distributed computing, cloud infrastructure, or HyperGrid technologies.
- Nice-to-have: Experience managing beta programs, customer training, or production readiness activities for EDA tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (BS or MS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. No mention of alternative equivalent-experience language was provided.
